Amp Up Your Self-Love This February

Self-love is important year round. February can sometimes be a difficult month to keep this practice up. Here are some ways you can amp up your self-love routine this month – and always.

Self-love defined.

Self-love is loving yourself unconditionally. This means that you accept yourself exactly the way you are. And not only do you accept yourself, but you love yourself for who you are.

Having a strong sense of self-love enables you to tap into your inner power and create the life you love. You see, when you love yourself, you do not settle for anything. You know your worth. You know what experiences, places, people, and things are worth your time. And most importantly, you know how to honor yourself: your mind, body, and spirit.

Valentine’s, say wut?

With Valentine’s Day creeping up on us fast, it can be hard to remember to love yourself. Whether you are single or not is kind of irrelevant. No matter who you are, or what your situation is, you most likely have high expectations for Valentine’s Day. That’s why it is so important to keep up your self-love practice this month (and always).

Here are some ways you can amp up your self-love routine this February.

1. Meditate.

Meditating helps you to go within and connect with your Inner Being. Practicing meditation daily will help you to stay focused and centered. Your stress will be reduced and you’ll be going with the flow. Who wouldn’t want that?

2. Watch yo diet.

Make sure that you are eating a balanced diet and consuming foods that are healthy for you. It’s cool to have some chocolate as the holiday comes around. But make sure you are getting the nutrients your body is so craving. Doing this will make you feel better physically, and your mood will be enhanced.

3. Exercise.

My favorite form of exercise is yoga – hands down. I just love the flow of yoga. It both relaxes and energizes me at the same time. Find a way to get your body moving this month. Stretching helps you to move stagnant energy throughout your body, and exercise just helps you to feel better in general, am I right?


4. Alone time.

I feel the best when I get some alone time, pretty much every day. Make sure that you are getting some time away from everyone to be with your thoughts and check in with how you are feeling. This will help you to be at your best when the festivities begin, either with your significant other or your friends.

5. Beautify.

Take time each week to do something that makes you feel good in the beauty department. Take a long bath with your favorite essential oils, try out a Vegan sheet mask, like my favorite from Pacifica, or get your nails done. Just make sure you are doing something you enjoy that makes you feel special.

6. Set boundaries.

And last but most certainly not least, make sure you are setting boundaries for yourself. If someone is draining you or taking up too much of your time, it’s totally okay to tell them you need a minute. If you feel like staying in on Valentine’s and having a date with Netflix, let your partner or your friends know. Keep up this practice throughout the entire year and you will find yourself feeling so much better on so many different levels. Trust me.
